The TADA court is hearing the case of kidnapping of Rubia Syed, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and then Home Minister Mufti Mohammed Syed, and the killing of five Air Force officers. According to the CBI challan in the Rubia Syed kidnapping case, a report was filed on December 8, 1989 at Sadar police station in Srinagar.Rubia Syed mini-bus was on its way home from Laldad Hospital Srinagar to Naugam. In the meantime, he was kidnapped by some unidentified gunmen. After completing the investigation, the CBI filed an invoice against the accused in the TADA court in Jammu on September 18, 1990.
According to the CBI's second challan, Airforce officers were standing at Sanat Nagar Crossing in Rawalpora at around 7:30 a.m. on the morning of January 25, 1990. The terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on them. About 49 Airforce officers, including a woman, were seriously injured. Two officers died on the spot, while three others later succumbed. The CBI had filed a challan against Yasin Malik and others in the TADA court in Jammu after completing the probe.
